Yahoo! Pool hardware requirements

Actually there is not any necessary hardware requirements but there are some issues for enjoy the game more.

PLATFORM :
You can play Yahoo! Pool with a Pc (personal computer), Macintosh, laptop ( you know it is little hard to play with a laptop )

SCREEN / MONITOR :
This is the most important hardware that you must care. You sure can play Yahoo! Pool in every size of screen on this earth from 7' to 1007 inch :) but i suggest you to have a flat screen and you know bigger is better :) .So what size of monitor ? i start to play with 17 inch and now 22 inch but that's not the point, it is important what screen resolution you use .There are two resolution choice for Yahoo! Pool games.

a) Window size of your game room (lobby)

This is size you chose before you enter Yahoo! Game rooms and it only effects your lobby screen window size not table window size.
Setting up Yahoo! Pool window size

b) Screen resolution of your platform

This will effect your lobby and table screen size. Instead stuck and play with your current system settings i strongly suggest you try to play couple games with other screen resolutions like 800x600 ,1024x768 ,1280x1024, 1600x1200 + .If you have problems with your eyes :( you can feel comfortable playing with 800x600 screen resolution so you will have a bigger table. I personally started to play Yahoo! Pool with 800x600 but was using 1024x768 screen resolution for my computer and i was sick of change resolution everyday before enter Yahoo! Pool so start to play with 1024x768 resolution but now playing with 1680x1050 resolution (remember its all about how you feel comfortable :).I must tell with my big screen and this resolution i am able to open 2 tables side by side and if you are a league staff that's cool when running a tourney :).

If you don't know how to change your screen resolution
for windows users just right click on your desktop and hit on properties. From the opened screen see settings tab at top right and click, in the screen resolution area check your resolution it will say something 1280 by 1024 pixels, to change it catch the bar while clicking your left mouse button and slide it to right or left side and say ok.

RAM / MEMORY :
If you want to stay at Yahoo! Game rooms / lobbies longer without booted or have to reboot your system often, having more ram is better. This is not a Yahoo! Pool issue its just how computers work. You can play any game at Yahoo with a 256 mb ram but if you have 1024k + you will stay there more than a 256k or 512k user.

I suggest you to reboot your computer before start Yahoo! Pool.It is cause when you using your pc your system resources gets full.It is also important if you don't have much ram installed it helps to close unused programs at that moment. You can see which programs are running , when you are on desktop hit ctrl+alt+del buttons on your keyboards and hit Processes tab at the top and see how programs suck your ram.

It will also help you to not to use Yahoo! Pool sound when you play, you may think its cool but it will also kill your system resources soon and when you start not to hear it prepare to be booted from games and you have to reboot your computer. So if it happens don't start a new game and go reboot or you will probably lose some points by disconnecting.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS ( Personal Experiments ):

1- If your mouse have batteries(cordless, laser etc.) it is better keep in mind when you changed the batteries if you don't want to curse when your batteries finish during a timer game. I personally use rechargeable batteries and they goes for 15 days non stop for the mouse( i didn't change my keyboard batteries like 2 years uh huh ).If i would play Yahoo! Pool i change the batteries with fresh ones before start playing . This may also goes for your keyboards ;).

2 - If you are living in an apartment use your optical, laser mouse some time before play Yahoo! Pool first time to make sure that your neighbors don't have one with same channels :) hehe yes you need to setup its connecting channels till its ok to go.When i tryed my first cordless mouse i saw it was moving itself around the screen and i thought like what the ... hehe in 15 sec i realized to change channels and everything went smooth after.

3 - Cordless mouse's can move sometimes by themselves, for example mine is moving to top left or bottom left corner of my screen sometimes itself :( . You must always keep in mind that this can be happen while playing a timer game like 5 seconds .
