Yahoo! Pool Ratings
Every new player (or new Yahoo! ID you created) will start the game with a 1200 rating (points) and a provisional grey color box instead showing your rating on room the player list.Don't forget you will never see your rating directly in Yahoo! Pool "Social" rooms but you can at the other level rooms.If you are a new player/ new ID and want to play in a beginner room you will see "Provisional" badge near your ID at the room player list. When you play your games as a provisional player your rating still calculates. Your provisional status will end after you completed 20 rated games so you will see your rating on the player list. During the provie period you can check your rating by double clicking your Yahoo! ID from the player list in a game room/lounge or if you want to check your rating during a game, after a game by clicking your Yahoo! ID at the top of your game table.
Check out the rating ladder image at left, it shows 1200 rates as a blue box near it instead grey this is because you will have a blue color box near your name if you can't have a +1500 rating after the provious status.
Yahoo! limits points with maximum 3500 and you can go - rates too. Your rating color will change when you reach ,1500,1800 and 2100.
Rating System
A one-on-one rating calculation is made between the winner and each loser. The rating change for each result is added to the winner's rating. Each loser's rating is only affected by the one-on-one calculation against the winner.
The amount your rating changes depends on the difference between your rating and your opponent's rating. Your rating might go down if you play someone who has a significantly lower rating than you.That is why higher rating players not playing with you and boot you.
Yahoo! uses USCF's (U.S. Chess Federation) rating system to calculate ratings, whoever i think they use an old version cause when i try to get info i see point system is not the same.

Check the images below to have an idea what your points will be when you win or lose;

My rating is missing what the ?
Sometimes when you enter a Yahoo! Pool lounge you may see that your rating is missing on the players list even if you are not a provie player, do not worry this is cause of a temporary lag on Yahoo! Games servers. If you play games at that time it is possible that your win or lose will be counted later but sometimes not.
P.S:I didn't play with low rate players to have these screen shots, i mostly play them to give them a change to win points.
