Learning Pool Balls
There are 15 balls at pool. The cue ball ( white one ) used by every player to shoot/pot their group of balls so we have 14 balls left. These 14 balls are part of two groups of balls which called stripes and solids. Solids and stripes has both 7 balls . While solid balls only has color and numbers on them stripes has a painted band of color around their equator, The numbers 1 through 8 balls are solids and 9 to 15 are stripes.

If you want to become a good player you should learn all balls with numbers
While solids also known as "low balls" stripes may called as "high balls" .
Since you have stripes in a game you have to pot 8-ball (solid 8) to win the game so it is not considered a solid.
If you have solid balls you should pot 8-ball (solid 8) as your last ball to win the game, if you pot it early you will lose that game.
