HOW DID YOU DECIDE TO HAVE MR PROJECT & WHEN AND HOW IT STARTED ?
MonkeyRoyale is just a by-product of LadderMonkey. The concept started 4 years ago. I used to be a Cases player in Backgammon and was appalled at how they ran their leagues. In fact I spent at least 16 hours a day online in the old Ladder Rooms on Yahoo chasing that #1 spot. One day I asked myself how can I make money on the internet with gaming. So I modified the Cases and Yahoo systems and came up with LadderMonkey.
The original programmers that started this all are the owners of RankMonster. They attempted to takeover LadderMonkey after the initial programming but their takeover was a miserable failure. It took us 2 years to recover from the errors the original programmers made on the programming. We thought we could adjust the programming from the original scripts but that lasted a year. There were just too many errors happening. That is when we had our major slow downs from December to March this past year. It was decided that we would rewrite all the programming. The reason we changed the name to MonkeyRoyale was because we owned the domain rights to both .com and .net . laddermonkey.com was owned by the original programmers and we Could not get it from them. Besides we were not a ladder in the true sense of the word anymore and it was time to change.
WHAT WAS THE NEGATIVE PROBLEMS BEFORE YOU START MR PROJECT ?
The scripts that sort out the information and distributes it to the database. Everything had to be rewritten and the code size were enormous. One little error in the code would not make it work. sigma_lmtd is my programmer and he did a good job sorting it out. It took 6 months to write the code and to this day we are still adjusting it.
WHY WAS THE NAME LADDER MONKEY( WHY AN ANIMAL NAME AND WHY MONKEY ?
The name was thought up by the original programmers. I gave them a concept and they came up with Monkey. The original idea was Top Dog (LOL That fell to the wayside)
