You can call toll-free U.S. numbers that start with area code 800, 888, 877, or 866. This calling features are available to users only on these versions of Yahoo! Messenger: U.S., Yahoo! Telemundo (in Spanish), Spain, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Singapore

Voice service, calling a toll-free numbers is a great way to try the service for free without having to sign up first. Click a phone number below to make a toll-free call right now. (You must be signed into Messenger and using version 8.1).

Yahoo! Messenger blog also says It includes improvements in voice quality and sign-in as well as fixes for minor bugs with the new Microsoft Windows Vista operating system that launches on January 30.

Hope i can use this one cause of bugs at the latest version i am still using v7 :(

Yahoo! Messenger and Lotus Sametime migrated

Official Yahoo! Messenger blog announced that now you can IM with IBM’s Sametime users which has ten million users same time.

To add a friend who uses Same time to your Yahoo! Messenger contact list, click the “+” button on your Messenger window. Then enter your friend’s email address and choose the “Lotus Sametime” network from the drop down menu.


As you know Yahoo! Messenger meet with Msn Messenger last year and now with IBM’s Sametime, i think soon they will migrate with other IM programs like aim, icq and may be gtalk

Yahoo! Messenger for Windows Vista

Microsoft was announced that Vista will arrive to the shops at the end of Jan 2007 so all software engineers are working hard to update their programs for Windows Vista platform.

Yahoo!! Messenger team is also in the progress and i must tell you that what is coming is so cool. way to go guys :)

Some new features;
* Brand new emoticons, program icons and alert sounds
* Instantly change the look and feel of your Yahoo!! Messenger interface.
* Automatic groups are created in your contact list based on your Yahoo!! interests (i.e. Yahoo!! Sports Fantasy Football league)
